Variable Speed Pump

  • permanent magnet motor
  • better pool circulation as they have full control of water flow. Many RPM and speed settings.
  • most efficient pump as variable speed pumps are low energy and cost effective
  • Higher cost upfront but lowest operating cost
  • Wide range of programming options
  • More Quiet Operation
  • Automaton compatible and remote monitoring is optional on many VS pumps.
  • Best Durability
  • Best option to run along side a heater
Double Speed Pumps

  • has a low and high speed option
  • high speed better for pool vacuuming or running heater
  • induction style motor
  • more expensive than a single speed pump
  • will save about 50%-70% on energy cost compared to a one-speed pump
Single Speed Pump

  • runs at a same constant speed always
  • cheaper to purchase upfront
  • most expensive to run energy wise
  • often louder and more inefficient than a 2 Speed or Variable speed
  • may be best option for AG pools or very small lap pools
  • induction style motor
  • not as effective with pool heaters
